What you get
Palette Forge is provided free of charge, with no account, no subscription and no usage limit. You may use it for personal, educational, internal or commercial work. Nothing here creates an ongoing service commitment: the page may be updated, moved or withdrawn at any time.
What you make with it
Color values are facts about color, not creative works, and Palette Forge claims nothing over them. The palettes, gradients, contrast reports and exported files — CSS custom properties, Tailwind configuration fragments, SCSS variables, JSON and SVG swatch sheets — are yours to use, modify, publish and sell without attribution and without a license fee. Any image you supply to the palette extractor remains entirely yours; it is processed in your own browser and is never received by anyone else.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the server that hosts this page.
- Do not present Palette Forge as your own product or imply that it is endorsed by you or by a third party.
- Do not use the page in a way that breaks the law where you are, or that infringes someone else's rights — including feeding it images you do not have the right to use.
Accessibility and correctness of contrast results
The contrast matrix implements the WCAG 2.1 relative luminance formula and reports the standard thresholds of 3:1, 4.5:1 and 7:1. It is a calculation aid, not a certification. Whether a finished interface conforms to WCAG depends on font sizes, weights, states, images of text, focus indicators and much else that this tool cannot see. Treat the numbers as one input into an accessibility review, not as a substitute for one.
No warranty
Palette Forge is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Color output depends on your display, your operating system's color management and your browser's support for the color functions used here; results are not guaranteed to match any physical reference or any other device.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Palette Forge. Because your work is stored only in your own browser, keep your own copies of anything you care about: clearing your browser's site data removes the recent palettes list permanently.
Privacy
What the page stores on your device, and what it does not, is described in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the publisher operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

Updated terms will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the page after a change means you accept the revised terms.
